Some tips and Notes about PicMe - THE self timer for the iPhone's camera.

Notes:

At some point, you may see this message appear on your screen:
IMG_0612
This means that PicMe has not been able to get the memory it requested. The iPhone relies on apps returning memory they's been given to execute in. Sometimes they don't return it all, and sometimes the iPhone itself can "lose track" of memory, causing this message to appear. You should (after clicking OK) check to make sure that your picture appears in the Camera Roll, and then restart your iPhone. Hold down the power key until you see the "slide to power off" message. Do that - swipe the slider and power off. A few seconds after the power down sequence is completed, press the power key briefly to restart the iPhone.

These steps free up memory that has been "trapped" and can't be reused. It's a good solution for other apps, too, that may quit unexpectedly, or refuse to start. Try it before calling for help.

After never seeing the memory warning message during all our testing - hundreds and hundreds of pictures taken - it appeared when I was taking a real picture with the released software. "Don't it always happen that way?" sounds like a blues song title, but it is also the lament of the software developer. A few more hours of testing and experimenting showed that PicMe was not causing the memory problem, but did, indeed, use more memory that it needed to. So version 1.1 was developed to correct that, and to clean up the user interface steps at the completion of picture taking. It'll soon be in the App Store, and a free update to all PicMe purchasers. In the meantime, keep using version 1.0; it should work just fine. If you see the memory warning, restart as described above.

Version 1.1 only
After taking a picture, PicMe immediately writes it to the Camera Roll. This process takes a few seconds, during which the screen is (pretty much) blank except for button that says "Saving...". When writing completes, the button changes to "OK", and you can press it to go back to the PicMe screen, or just press the Home key to quit the App. If you press the Home key while the button says "Saving...", your picture may not get saved.

Version 1.0 only
Wait a couple of seconds after you see the picture you took appear before pressing the Home key to make sure your picture is saved properly.
